I’m in California! I was so excited to be in California because family is here and I’ll have an abundance of places to get fabrics and such. But the excitement came to a halt when my mother in law said I will not be able to sew. Hmong people have this superstition that when your husband goes off to war, you cannot touch a needle or knife. My husband is deploying and with respect to my parents in law’s beliefs, I’ll hold off on sewing til he gets home. At first I was very reluctant, but I realized it’s best to not cause any stress as I’m sure my mother in law is probably already stressing. I’ll just have to pick up another hobby. Lately, I’ve been working on Elsa dresses for my nieces for Halloween. And the other day I worked on a jacket for myself.

The weather is getting colder and it’s time to darken my hair. I was set on black but in the back of my head, I felt the color was too extreme for my skin color. I think I have fairly light skin and prefer it to be 2 shades darker. I tried a few times to get a tan by sitting outside on sunny days but it didn’t really work. I got bored at work so I decided to color my photos. I really like the blue black and copper, but I think it’s going to be dark brown instead.

I just moved to a new apartment and I have no clue what to do with decor. I want a vintage and warm style, but with the color furniture I have right now, I don’t know if it’s going to work. My furniture are black and white so I don’t want to implement too many colors or it’s going to look messy. I don’t know. I need some inspiration. I think I just don’t know what I really want. With the black and white furniture and all of my boyfriend’s electronics, I should go for the modern techie style. BUT I really want the vintage, warm and cozy feel.
Here’s the color palette I want to work with.
