Hello hello hello! I don’t consider myself a blogger because I am so horrible at it. Anyway, below are just updates. I am moving next weekend! On that same Saturday, it’ll be my first craft show with my sister! more stress than excitement though because I haven’t made anything! I hope things go well.? :D
This morning I got an update on my fabric printing. Hopefully I receive it by end of May since printing is actually not done yet and it is being ship from China. Super excited!

I can’t seem to be completely satisfy with the designs, the fabric itself, and the quality of the print. I need to settle for something asap. Below are four designs I submitted for printing. Two will be printed on Jersey Knit, which is basically T-shirt fabric; one will be on a thin cotton and the other on normal cotton. I’m anxious to get these in the mail mainly because of the jersey knit. I have a feeling the prints on the cotton will be better though.

I’ve been trying to design my own fabric for quite a while now. About a month ago, I ordered 2 yards of custom made fabrics. The first yard is my previous post. The other yardage was in a different kind of knit. I think it was polyester knit. It was significantly better than the first because the color saturation was better. I wasn’t feeling the fabric too much though. I felt like it just wasn’t right for the garments I wanted to create. I did some more goggling or binging and found a different company that offers printing on jersey knits. I’m pretty stoked about the fabric, but I can’t or don’t want to be too happy until I actually see the result. I’m worried that it’ll be like the cotton knit where the ink saturation isn’t good enough. My previous design was mainly red, but since learning that the 2014 color of the year will be dazzling blue, I decided to change the main color. I’ve been wanting to change the red anyway because I wanted to keep the traditional indigo and the red was making the fabric too red, white, and blue. I literally just submitted the design for a review about 30 minutes ago. I’m hoping they get back to me soon. I’m only ordering a yard to see how it’ll turn out; crossing my fingers it’ll be goooood.
I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving next week! OH MAN, I need to get my arse sewing. I’m always getting sidetrack. Like Lana Del Rey’s lyric “there is a war in my mind”! I just can’t stay put and do what I gotta do. My mind comes up with ideas and wanders off alllll the effin time. Like seriously, I do not need to do the fabric design at this time. It can wait til next year! I MUST get things done this weekend. tooodaaalooooo?

I have two orders of the sage bohemian dress. I don’t have the fabrics on hand so I rushed to JoAnn during lunch to grab this peach nylon before it’s gone. It’s discontinued so I’ll have to find a replacement for future orders. :/

Finally received the Hmong hand woven fabric I ordered on ebay. It seemed forever, but it’s been only 2 or 3 weeks, from Thailand. I’m planning to make mini skirts out of this fabric, but it’s a bit too plain. I’ll have to add some trims.

I am super excited to show off the sweetheart wrap dress I made yesterday night. Ever since I started on my Thai inspired clothing items, I’ve been wanting to make a wrap dress, similar to the traditional Thai wrap skirt. I didn’t want it to make it exactly like the Thai wrap skirt because then it’ll be too simple and there’s no point. My passion and goal is to modernize anything Hmong, not make exact copies. I loved vintage clothing items as well so I came up with this design a while ago (only in my mind because I can’t draw). The dress has been itching to get out of my mind and into reality, but I just couldn’t find the perfect fabric. Brocades would be great for the dress, but it’d be too bright and flashy; Thai fabrics would be perfect, but it’s too precious and expensive to use it as a sample piece. With nothing to do, I decided to work on the dress and just grab whatever fabric I have. I used this leopard print knit fabric, which turned out great because it hugs the body and gives stretch to wherever it needs. It’s not a true wrap dress, because the “wrap” cannot be undone like the original wrap dress or skirt. It has the overlap in the front, but it’s sewn attached to the top on the waist. The real test now, is to make it with non-stretch fabric. The hunt for the perfect fabric for this dress starts this weekend!
I’m also thinking how I can incorporate Hmong fabrics into this dress as well…
OH! a friend of mine is making bridesmaid dresses… I’m thinking this would be perfect for a summery bridesmaid dress, or a beach wedding dress… I’m thinking too much! need to relax and look for fabrics. The excitement could be that I just finish drinking a cup of coffee. :D

My hair has been growing way too fast. I don’t have time to make an appointment to get my hair cut. Argh… I might just let my hair grow or find a way to cut it myself which is very unlikely.
Today, I’m wearing the jewelries I bought this pass weekend at Forever 21. I found a silver locket necklace, which was only $2 something; giving me no reason why I shouldn’t buy it. I’ve always LOVED jewelries made with fabrics and metals and couldn’t pass up the two I found above.
I picked up my package this morning and received the Smashbox eye brightener I ordered. Nothing exciting but I’ve been meaning to get one for the longest time now and I just can’t remember to get it when I’m at the mall.
It’s been a while since I last sew. I reaaalllyyy need to use up all the fabrics I have. It’s collecting dust and taking up space. I didn’t feel like making a one piece dress so I made just the top and will be making a skirt for it another time when I figure out what to do exactly.
