Hello hello hello! I don’t consider myself a blogger because I am so horrible at it. Anyway, below are just updates. I am moving next weekend! On that same Saturday, it’ll be my first craft show with my sister! more stress than excitement though because I haven’t made anything! I hope things go well.? :D
This morning I got an update on my fabric printing. Hopefully I receive it by end of May since printing is actually not done yet and it is being ship from China. Super excited!

Just some updates and photos…

I was way overdue to make my sister in law a tea length skirt. Last week I finally made her one! This skirt is also posted on my etsy shop for ordering.

I received my cotton fabric I purchased from spoonflower.com over the weekend. I haven’t really thought much about what to make. I made a high neck scoop top because I like it high. I have no clue what kind of bottom to add onto the top.

This fabric has been sitting around since Fresno New Year 2013, which is 4.5 months ago. I guess it hasn’t been that long compared to the other fabrics I have from who knows when. I really like this green and silver floral chiffon fabric, but the quality is not that great. The silver flowers are metallic and looks like it’s heat pressed onto the fabric. It makes the fabric kind of wrinkly and doesn’t hang too well if you look closely. There is a “new” fabric very similar to this one, but the flowers are gold/bronze and silver. The quality is a lot better, but I don’t like it as much because the green is not as bold as this “older” one. I think it’s fairly hard to find this “older” one and when I saw it at Fresno New Year, I had to get it. I’m glad I’m finally using my fabrics, but there are sooo many other errands I need to get done. I need to get my priorities straight!

What a lollapalooza morning! I actually had 10 minutes to spare this morning before heading out to Starbucks and then work. I spent a few minutes of my 10 minutes looking through my jewelries and found the pearl necklace my sister gave me for Christmas. I like pearls, but this necklace is exceptional because it’s real therefore it’s not perfectly round, it’s not white, and it’s made by my sister. I just bought the diamond ring, but it’s not my favorite. My favorite ring is still my jade ring. Every time I go to the mall, I often go to the jewelry section/stores to look for jade rings and necklaces, but there are always such small selections. Somebody told me that there is a restriction on jade imports so I guess that could be the reason why jewelry stores have such limited selections.
I also used my 10 minutes to take a few photos of the things I made but no longer want to keep. At first I was going to trash it like I usually do, but figured people might want it so I’m going to do a few giveaways. If you would like to win the items posted on here (minus the necklace and rings), go to my Facebook page to like and share the photos.

When I got started on the skirt of this dress, I realized it’s going to be super green. But what can I do? Nothing, because I don’t know what to do or what changes I should make. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike or hate it, I’m actually loving the color green this season. Yesterday night at around 11pm, after I cut my bangs or fringe, colored my roots, and watched random videos on YouTube, I decided to sew. I know right, at 11pm when I have work the next morning. It’s okay though because I don’t start heading out til 10am. I’m not done with the dress but, decided to quickly attach the bottom to the top to see how it’ll look like. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve used so much fabric on a dress before. If I have, I don’t remember. I bought 5 yards of the plain green and it doesn’t look like I have more than a yard and a half left. I think my sister bought me four yards of the Hmong green and silver fabric and no more than a half of a yard is left. It is because I cut one of the panels wrong so that was maybe a waste of a yard or so.

This dress reminds me of a princess dress (because of the side panels or whatever it’s called) so I think I’ll name it the Princess Dress. Since it’s so green, the first thing I thought of was Green Lady (Bridesmaid in Hmong). So, if you’re having a Hmong American wedding, this will be the perfect (literal) bridesmaid dress. Or if you’re attending an event (around this time would be Prom!) and love green as much as I do, this is the dress!

My hair has been growing way too fast. I don’t have time to make an appointment to get my hair cut. Argh… I might just let my hair grow or find a way to cut it myself which is very unlikely.
Today, I’m wearing the jewelries I bought this pass weekend at Forever 21. I found a silver locket necklace, which was only $2 something; giving me no reason why I shouldn’t buy it. I’ve always LOVED jewelries made with fabrics and metals and couldn’t pass up the two I found above.
I picked up my package this morning and received the Smashbox eye brightener I ordered. Nothing exciting but I’ve been meaning to get one for the longest time now and I just can’t remember to get it when I’m at the mall.

It’s been a while since I last sew. I reaaalllyyy need to use up all the fabrics I have. It’s collecting dust and taking up space. I didn’t feel like making a one piece dress so I made just the top and will be making a skirt for it another time when I figure out what to do exactly.
